How to Work a Pneumatic Forklift
Commonly used in shipping facilities, the pneumatic lift truck or pallet truck, may be used to move resources that are positioned on top of pallets. A pneumatic forklift commonly has a pair of steel forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight that also has a pump. The pump is used to elevate and lower the blades.
Visually inspect the pallet lift before loading. Make sure the wheels are free of any likely obstructions. Furthermore, make sure the handle moves fluently and turns properly. Inspect the pallet prior to moving it to determine if it is stacked in a way that minimizes the chance of anything falling off during lifting. Discharge any air in the pump and drop the blades to the ground by squeezing the handle installed on the inside of the steel ring on the end of the lever. Run the forks into the slots in the pallet and ensure the forks are centered so that the pallets’ weight is evenly dispersed.
Pump the pneumatic jack handle up and down to lift the blades from the ground. Stop pumping once the pallet is entirely off the floor as there is no need to raise it any higher or risk losing stability while turning. In order to shift the pallet, pull the handle behind you; don't push it. There will be a large amount of momentum present. Avoid quick or sharp turns and you should not stop too swiftly. Gently bring the pallet to a stop wherever you would like to park it. Squeeze the handle within the grip end to restore the forks to the ground. Withdraw the forks from the pallet and return the pallet lift to its designated parking spot.

Instructions
Buy a forklift hopper. This device comes in two general versions, either self-dumping or the usual model. Select a self-dumping hopper if possible as it enables the dumping to take place without slanting. Position the hopper level on the ground, turn the forklift on, lock the seat belt and release the parking brake. Move frontward gradually while somewhat elevating the prongs 2-3 inches above the ground by applying the "up" lever. Slide the forks into the slots of the hopper until they cannot slide in any further. Fill the dump bucket up with whichever item or materials that is to be discarded. Use the "up" lever and lift the hopper until it is higher than eye level in order to ensure visibility. Move frontward until reaching the trash dumpster and next raise the hopper until it clears the bin by one or two feet and progress forward until the lift truck is touching the exterior of the dumpster.
Self dumping hoppers would automatically unload on contact with the dumpster. Traditional hoppers or dump buckets need the use of the tilt lever to tilt the prongs downward until they reach a forty five degree angle. After the inside dump out, return the prongs to the level position. Lower the prongs back to floor level previous to returning to the facility.
